Remember, the bigger problem is not the phone itself but how frequently you check it. And we want you to overcome exactly that. So here’s what you need to do to succeed in this mission: Create a digital locker to cut distractions.

A digital locker could be anything like a drawer or cupboard. The idea is to keep your phone away at a fixed place at the same time, every day. This will help your brain associate a place and time with blocking distractions. So when you need to focus on a task, put your phone away in the digital locker, and once the task is over take the phone back and use it as you wish.

P.S.: The phone can still ring in the digital locker, so you can go one step further by putting it in Silent or Do Not Disturb mode, and then keeping it far from reach. If you expect a call from an important person, you can add them to the exceptions (or favorites) list, as most phones allow.

P.P.S.: If your workflow requires you to use a computer, and you tend to get distracted while working on it, try apps like FocusMe or Freedom to block specific sites (like Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, etc.) or cut the internet itself.
