Our environment shapes our behavior, and we will use it in our favor in this mission. Let us flip the adage “Out of sight, out of mind,” to make “In sight, in mind,” and tweak your environment to promote water consumption. Keep a bottle full of water next to your bed when you go to sleep so it’s a zero-effort job to drink after waking up.
Want to go one step further? Replace the sugary drinks in your fridge with water bottles or just put them out of sight. This way, every time your old habit of reaching out for a sweet drink kicks in, you will end up drinking water instead. Within no time you will start feeling less bloated and sustain energy for longer.
There’s more good news! Not all water intake needs to be direct liquid. If your diet consists of ample fruits and vegetables, then you are already getting some more water indirectly from them.
