This mission is about learning new things, but the purpose is not just to increase your knowledge. Use it to grow awareness of the unique ways in which you resist change. How? Here are some examples.

The most common case:

Someone who reads hundreds of books, but never applies anything in their own life.

The extreme case:

Someone willing to kill anyone who opposes their thoughts, a typical case with extremist groups.

A funny scenario:

Someone who grew up learning that “Pluto is a planet.” Years later, when the scientists found that they were wrong and Pluto is not a planet anymore, this person refuses to accept this. Why? Is it this person’s love for the old scientists or hatred for the new ones? Nah! It’s just plain old stupidity. But sadly, this example extends to all of us for things beyond Pluto. What lies are you holding on to?

Learning new things with an open mind is the best way to avoid such scenarios. In a way, new things not only make you more knowledgeable, but they also make you more flexible to change, as they break your shell.

So, commit to learning something new every day. Fix a suitable time block, where you are free from distractions and obligations. In this “me time” it should be just you and your gateways to knowledge, like a book, magazine, or podcast.
